This 60-year-old Yau Ma Tei Carpark Building will be demolished early next year in line with the Highways Department’s construction of the Central Kowloon route. From 1st of January 2021, the car park will be completely closed.
The car park building was built in 1970, the building is a modernist style, the 2nd to 5th floor opened a “big passover”, an unique dual-lane flyover of Gascoigne Road, has a section passing through the car park, making the whole construction style very distinctive.
Dismantling means that this rich urban wonder will disappear in the coming days.
